We had to create a 1-3 minute animation with the theme WATER. I decided to work off my favorite quote, "Life's not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain." What makes them special is they hire people with disabilities to make these crafts, but even better, they are paid above minimum wage. Miraculously, her little house made of wood on the mountain was spared and she had minimal damage. It is important that people with disabilities get to tell their own authentic story with their voice and that they are represented in every possible way in the media. Here is a video that shows some of the faces of Tecnovo and their perspective of working at Tecnovo. Her life has revolved around telling and producing stories people need to hear, but ensuring that the authentic voices of the people are heard. After her time with CNN, she moved to North Carolina where her mother and bonus father resided in at the time and took care of them both until they both passed. She believes it was a sign for her to stay in North Carolina when her mother passed because it was the one place her immediate family had finally settled down. A big history buff, today she works at Elon University preserving videos in the archives, and expresses the importance of how creating concrete metadata helps any video editor when trying to edit and tell a story. She has also has worked in the Elon School of Communication, where she produced for the Elon News Network. City of Seattle lawsuit to get the City of Seattle to fix over thousands of curb cuts in the city.
